The New Costco In Celina

First up, we’re on the southwest corner of Ownsby Parkway and Preston Road where a brand new Costco is underway and it will actually be a part of a 77 acre mixed-use development called The Crossing and Moore Farm. And for those of you who are unfamiliar with the area but familiar with the channel, this is gonna be right next to Light Farms, one of the most popular communities in all of North Dallas. This Costco has been in the works for a couple of years now and is set to open January 24, 2025. 

Also, in the development will be a 110,000 square foot luxury fitness center, Lowe’s, Chick-fil-a, Chipotle, and a Panda Express. It will also have around 750 residential units. 

The Ownsby Parkway Expansion

Staying in the same area, the expansion of Ownsby Parkway is also making some pretty big strides, having just completed the paving on the northbound right turn lane off Preston Road. This has been a long time coming, as Ownsby Parkway has become notorious for not being wide enough to accommodate Celina's rapid growth. With the population expected to surpass 100,000 in just a few years, addressing this issue will be a big quality of life boost for both new and old residents. The $19 million dollar project hopes to expand the road by six lanes from Preston to Coit and is expected to finish up around December of this year. 

Celina Station New Businesses

Moving Up Preston Road and into the heart of Celina, there are a couple of new businesses that will be popping up soon at Celina Station. Celina Veterinary Hospital and Celina Dental Group are two of the new residents and just a little farther down in the Station, you’ll find Smiley Nail Salon and Promise Dentistry. Celina Station has 61,000 square feet of retail, restaurant, and office space planned so expect more options to pop up as Celina continues to grow. 

Lilyana By Hillwood

Moving up North brings us to Lilyana by Hillwood Communities. Located on the northeast corner of Coit Rd and Frontier Pkwy, this master-planned community is over 400 acres and currently 

contains homes from American Legend Homes and M/I Homes. 

The M/I Homes Model is the Salado floor plan is  4 bed, 4 bath, 3600 square feet and starts at around $686,000. 

The American Legend Model Home is the 1523 model. It is a 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom, with around 2400 square feet. American Legend homes at Lilyana start at the high $500s. 

Aside from the beautiful homes, Lilyana has some great amenities as well, including two Amenity centers, several parks, basketball and pickleball courts, pools, and a splash pad. 

And that’s not all from Hillwood. The developer recently announced another Celina master-planned community called Ramble. This community will be 1,340 acres situated between Preston Road and Custer Road, about two miles north of downtown Celina, with builders such as American Legend Homes , Coventry Homes, Drees Custom Homes, Highland Homes and Perry Homes. The development will also incorporate much of Celina’s natural hills, water features, and natural areas into the plan. Ramble plans for 4,000 homes total and will break ground late this year with a grand opening in late 2025, so we’ll be sure to keep you updated with that progress. 

Methodist Medical Center

A little farther away, is the new Methodist Medical Center off of Dallas Pkwy. and FM248, about six miles from the city center. This new hospital is currently under construction and is expected to open its doors in early 2025. The $237 million dollar project will sit on 46.7 acres of land and be four stories and around 200,000 square feet. This also comes at a great time since there is really only one hospital in Celina, and that population just keeps ticking up faster and faster, and with the first fire station in Celina west of Dallas pkwy opening just a few months ago, you can see the city is adjusting very well to the influx of people. 

Legacy Hills

Also, right off the tollway is the new Legacy Hills master-planned community from Centurion American. The 3,000 acre development will contain eleven builders including D.R. Horton, First Texas Homes, M/I Homes, and more will have 6,888 homes and 4,000 multi-family units. But what really sets the place apart are the amenities. It will have two Celina ISD schools, two fire stations, a police station, 7 amenity centers, and an 18 hole championship golf course complete with a clubhouse, driving range, and putting green.
