This Zero Energy Home Community in Denton Texas is AMAZING! | Living in Denton Texas

Zero Energy Homes?

Are they really the future?

Can they really save you thousands of dollars every year on energy?

That’s what I wanted to find out.

So, today I am in Denton, Texas at the brand new Stark Farms by Beazer Homes… The
first national homebuilder in the DFW metroplex that offers 100% zero energy ready homes

Stark Farms

Stark Farms is the new community located just off FM 248 in Denton, Texas.

And the exciting thing? Every new home here is certified by the Department of Energy as a Department Of Energy Zero Energy Ready Home, which is subject to extremely rigorous criteria.

This is very much a place for a quieter lifestyle, far enough away from the city to not be bothered, but close enough for easy access.

The homes in this community feature brick and stone exteriors, spacious kitchens and great rooms, and plenty of options to make your home truly yours.

Amenities

There are a few green spaces that run through the middle of the community.

Walking trails are going to be spread throughout the community.

If you have kids, then you’ll be happy to hear that Stark Farms is zoned for Denton ISD, one of the best school districts in Denton County with an A- rating from niche.com and is only 5 miles away from Denton High School.

What are Zero Energy Homes?

Now you are probably wondering what a zero-energy, or net-energy home is. So let me explain it to you like this.

As you know, homes, especially older homes are not very efficient. You will notice this more often when it is either really hot or really cold because your energy bill is going to skyrocket. And if you live in Dallas, you’ll know that it can get into the triple digits in the summer and single digits in the winter. That’s because the cold air and the hot air is leaking out of your house. In fact, around 30% of a home's heating and cooling is lost just through its windows.

So, a zero-energy home solves that problem by increasing energy efficiency by up to 70%.

These homes are so efficient that a renewable energy system, such as solar panels, would offset most or all of the home’s annual energy use. So, while they are saving you money, you are also helping out the environment by reducing carbon emissions as roughly
20% of US emissions are directly attributed to heating, cooling, and powering households

Zero Energy Ready Homes

A Zero Energy Ready Home has the benefits of a zero energy home without the initial cost of solar collectors. So if you want to plan for the future and eventually add solar to your home, then a zero energy ready home is the perfect option.

So, as I show you around today, I’ll show you some of the ways that Beazer has made their homes energy efficient.

About Denton

If you are thinking about calling Stark Farms your home, then you’ll probably want to know a little bit about Denton.

Denton is a suburb in the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex but it really stands by itself. It is around a 40 minute drive to Fort Worth, a 41 minute drive to Dallas, and a 35 minute drive to Frisco.

While it might be a little far from some of the major suburbs of the DFW, it has a population of around 148,000 people and tons to do.

Denton is home to the
University of North Texas, which is definitely known for it’s arts and culture, so for those that like historic downtowns, then Denton is a great spot. The Square at Denton has tons of shops, restaurants, and live music for all age ranges.

There are also plenty of shopping options such as
Rayzor Ranch Marketplace, which is home to dozens of shops and restaurants such as Academy, Guitar Center, and James Avery.
